For Police and Armed Forces

Our first challenge was to create a high-definition body-worn digital video recorded and still camera for the UK Police force, as well as Armed Forces and law-enforcement agencies worldwide. When the Home Office issued the guidelines, their desire was to record evidence clearly enough to be admissible in court. Even in tests using very low specification equipment the number of guilty pleas increased dramatically, saving both time and money for hard-pressed Police forces. In addition, the number of complaints against officers fell because video evidence disproved false accusations. Other suppliers struggled to meet the Home Office spec; iOptec has driven a coach and horses through it.
